Livestream VFR flight from Modesto to Truckee in the DA42 with Flight Simulator 2024 and AI ATC

As a post-mortem of sorts, there were a few things in the flight that were interesting:

• I didn’t specifically request clearance for take-off from Modesto - I received departure information, but not explicit take-off clearance. I wasn’t berated for taking off either.

• During the flight I requested climb to a higher altitude, and the controller garbled the initial response. Asking a second time, the controller responded appropriately.

• On approach to Truckee, I intentionally read out an incorrect runway - and the controller ignored it, and read the correct runway back to me.

I’m still super-impressed with the facility to ask questions of the “mentor” while en-route, and the diversion of talking to a tour guide too. The “intercom” function is something of a boon on longer flights - especially if, like me, you have 101 questions about everything :)
