How to show DTG (distance to go) and ETA (estimated time of arrival) on the Garmin G1000 in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Somebody asked about this today, and I will admit it piqued my interest. By default the G1000 in Microsoft Flight Simulator shows GS, DTK, TRK, and ETE above the G1000 navigation display.
You can change them!
Look at the navigation display.
Click the FPL button (which shows the flight plan)
Roll the outer FMS knob (which pops up a dialog at the bottom right)
Roll the outer FMS knob one click LEFT (which shows the Aux page group)
Roll the inner knob to select "System Setup" (which will make the system setup screen appear behind the dialog)
Press the FMS knob in, to make the cursor appear on the system setup page.
Roll the outer FMS knob to move the cursor to the top right group of fields - "MFD Data Bar Fields"
Change the fields as required - e.g. "DTG" (distance to go) or “ETA” (estimated time of arrival).
