Hobbycraft has a lot to answer for.
In the best tradition of accompanying my other half for a visit to Hobbycraft on a Sunday morning - for “something to do”, I somehow ended up leaving with model kits for an Airbus A320neo, and a Boeing 747-8. And paint, thinners, glue, masking tape, clamps, and a few other bits and pieces.
I really am my own worst enemy sometimes.
So. If you wonder why the YouTube videos have slowed down a bit over the coming weeks, expect to see a few blog posts about “construction in progress”. I haven’t built a model aeroplane since my mid-teens. It’s going to be… interesting.
Being honest about it - I’m doing it to force myself to slow down a bit - to take a break. YouTube isn’t my day job (I have a pretty demanding role as a developer for a Microsoft partner), and it’s all too easy to fall down the rabbit-hole of working non-stop all the time - either on my day-job, or content creation in the evenings. As the YouTube channel has grown I’ve attracted a fair amount of interest from third parties - offering me all sorts of incentives to showcase their products or work. It’s difficult to say no, or even “not right now”.
So yes - the model kits are for me - and I will share the results with you if they are at all presentable :)
I have no idea where I’m going to put them once finished. That’s a problem for future Jonathan.
