Beginners guide to landing the big jets in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Following a request from a viewer, today we're taking a look at landing the big jets in Microsoft Flight Simulator - doing a couple of circuits of Stansted Airport in the PMDG Boeing 737-800. On the first circuit we land manually to illustrate the HSI/CDI symbology that guides us in, and on the second circuit we use the autopilot and autoland.
The key to all of this is getting the aircraft configured, and in the right place in the sky to being your final approach. For a three degree glideslope, 2500ft above airfield elevation at 10 miles out, with the aircraft fully configured for landing (flaps, gear, lights).
